Gems from the Web: Prodigal Sons and General Decadence
I wanted to bring to your attention a men's jeweler I recently discovered. The company is called Black Sheep and Prodigal Sons, and the jewelry looks like a cross between Edward Gorey and Moby Dick:
The artist handcrafts all of his pieces in Brooklyn, New York. The product is gorgeous and hits all my history kinks.
Check out the website; it won me over right away with this mysterious image of a salt-box house:

I also wanted to share the Style.com video of the Vogue Fall Fashion issue cover. It features Kristen Dunst photographed by Annie Leibovitz at Verailles; I did see Marie Attoinette and while I have many criticisms, I found the art direction and costuming to be fantastic, and adored the way it combined elements of the contemporary with the historical. For the Vogue shoot, Versailles opened its doors to a magazine for the first time in 25 years. The combination of the site, and the 18th-century inspired couture dresses is fascinating:

And finally, while we are on the topic of decadence, I cam across this photo from Louis Comfort Tiffany and Laurelton Hall: An Artist's Country Estate, now on display at the Met.
Reediculous.
