Fall Fashion Week: Wrap Up!

Over Fashion Week, I did get to attend a few shows. This is my first fashion week, and I have to say I noticed a certain formula to the way that shows are produced. 1. Herd averyone in to clean white space. 2. Play some appropriately hip music 3. Parade models down the catwalk. While I wouldn't say I was "bored to tears" (there are other things going on at a fashion show...the c-list celebrities, for example) I thought the shows lacked a certain sense of pagentry.

Some of fashion week's most wildly popular shows, like Heatherette and Betsey Johnson, are popular because they put on a good show. These shows add an element of excitement, the unexpected, the theatrical.

And then there is the premiere New York desginer, Marc Jacobs.

At the beginning of the show, a large red curtain opened to reveal the models posed, still as statues, in an interior scene remniscent of The Great Gatbsy. Slowly, each model came unfrozen and strutted down the catwalk in clothes seemingly pulled from the pages for a 1920's catalouge.

It was pretty fucking cool.

Watch the Video.

Also, watch this guy. I wonder what it was like to DJ Queen Victoria's Coronation.

And finally, check out My Fashion Album. I've added more looks to wrap up the week.

Kisses.
