Happy Birthday, Lincoln!

It's his 200th today. I'm taking a moment to feel thankful for such a remarkable man in out presidency. But if you're not in to quiet reflection, here's other ways to celebrate:

--If you're in the D.C. area, there are tons of free events going on this weekend. Additionally, the National Museum of American History will be displaying a copy of the Gettysburg address, and the National Archives will be showing the Emancipation Proclamation.

--Pick up a commemorative penny.

--Springfield, Ill. plans to celebrate "...like no other city."

--If you're in the South, keep it low key.

The official lincolnbicentennial.gov page is not loading; I have a feeling it's inundated today.

At any rate, take a moment today to tip your hat to a great man.
And coincidentally, it's Charles Darwin's 200th birthday as well. However, we already missed the staging of the new opera written in his honor.
